Here’s the story of how I almost lost my life because I thought getting content was so important to being able to create a career of creating content full time + acquiring financial freedom:

“Tap on her face!! She’s still alive!”

Accepting death was actually so beautiful.

I remember looking up at the surface, knowing I wasn’t going to make it…

It’s been said that drowning is the worst way to go.

But in my experience, and as scary as it sounds, it was the most beautiful experience of my life.

With my lungs already collapsed….

My stomach convulsing…

My $8,000 camera that I so desperately tried to save - floating to the surface…

As my legs were kicking for the surface suddenly this huge wave of euphoria rushed over my body.

Time stood still. 

I started to see colors that weren’t even there before.

The bubbles in the water changed from pink to purple.

I took one last look at the surface…

The next thing I know I felt this really weird hard surface on my back.

Then I heard a voice. 

“Someone tap on her face!! Her body needs to recognize that she’s still alive!!”

It was like an alarm had just gone off during the best sleep of my life.

I had just experienced the most euphoric feeling and now there was this burning sensation going up and down my chest as I coughed up a mixture of sea water and blood.

This was all because I wanted to prove that I could be a full time film maker who traveled the world and somehow found a way to create a career doing it.

I realized that I wanted to prove something SOOO badly to other people that I was willing to risk my life just to get the shot so that I could flex on instagram…

Ridiculous. 

But this was the pressure that I put on myself because I saw other “Travel Influencers” get shots like this…

In so many ways, I felt like I almost had to DIE to figure out how to feel alive….

And by feeling alive, I mean creating a life of freedom, creativity, and adventure.
